My story

THANK YOU for finding us and interest in our rescued dog. Because Kate is an international rescue through Taiwan. If you’re interested in adopting also can pick her up at international airport, please fill out an application on our website. Please email us if you have any question. Thank you very much. Apply at https://www.lifeofhopefoundation.org/adoption-application/ ----------------------- Kate is a really great pup. It takes a little time in the beginning for her to get to know new people and the environment, as she tends to be a bit shy and nervous when she first meets people. However, her curiosity and her adventurous spirit will bring her out of her shell. Kate was adopted by an elderly person when she was about 3-4 months old, but this elderly owner chained Kate to the front door (outside) and never took her for a walk or even let her inside. It seemed like Kate had very little interaction with people and did not know how to behave around people – the likely reason she gets slightly anxious in a new place. Her rescuer lives close by and would pass Kate everyday, seeing her quietly sitting in front of the door. One day, the rescuer got the permission from Kate’s owner to take Kate to a pet-friendly restaurant. That was the first time in her life that Kate got to experience joy and love. When the day was over, Kate returned to her home, continuing being chained outside without complaining. It broke her rescuer’s heart! The rescuer told us the story, and all of us agreed that Kate deserves a loving home, with a family who truly loves and care for her, and that her family should take the time to be with her. Additionally, allows her to be with them inside the house. Therefore, the rescuer tried to convince her owner about changing the way their family treated Kate to no avail! After a few tries, the rescuer was told by Kate’s owner that they no longer wanted Kate. It was the day that Kate’s freedom came. Her story was not unique in Taiwan, but we wanted to try our best to help out as much as we could. We know that all of them deserve to have a loving home. If you like Kate and would want to know more about her, please feel free to connect with us!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kate(Formosan Mountain Dog), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
