My story

Hi! I’m Stella, named for the very stars I used to play and dance under. I was an outdoor kitty until about the age of two (I’m about three now, with living inside this last year). And along with my sweet personality when I was taken in, I was discovered to have some significant health issues and probably would have not lasted very long on the outside. In my foster home, I healed and learned. Because of severe stomatitis I had all but my four canine teeth removed. However, this has not slowed me down, and my favorite food is kibble. And while I was a very shy and timid kitty, I have learned to interact with people. I still have a tendency to be a little cool and stand-offish until I get to know you, so expect me to be initially a little cautious and will need an acclimation period to my new home. I think a household with prior cat experience, patience, and a willingness to teach me to ‘cat’ will do me wonders! Small children are probably not a good idea, but older children who will be gentle, slow, and patient with me should be fine. My favorite things are the “magic brush” and the dancing feather toy. I’m just puddy in your hands and lap when you brush me with the magic brush and will play until YOU are tired with the feather toy! I’ve also been known to enjoy a good nature video and will watch with curiosity and delight. In the morning I’ll be sure to remind you that the day is beginning, and that play should be started – that is right after my morning pets and brushing. I have beautiful and sleek black fur with white mittens and white chest/belly. I’m petite at only 4.5 lbs, which makes me look younger than I am. But that’s OK – my heart is that of a kitten! I have been spayed, vaccinated, de-wormed, and tested FIV/FELV negative. I use the potty box consistently. Please give me a chance at being your best friend!
