My story

For more info about the dog, adoption applicaiton, or adoption process, please follow the link below. Thank you. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/adopt/dolee/ -------------- Note: Dolee is currently with a foster in Vancouver. This sweet girl was found wandering in a park in Korea, scared and hungry when she was about 3 months old. Dolee is currently living with a male foster brother, who she tries to engage play with but is unfortunately met with indifference (he ignores her). She previously was exposed to another female dog who she felt very insecure and reactive with. Because she can be selective, and is a strong minded girl, she would do best as the only dog/pet in the household. Despite her long journey, Dolee has settled in with people quite well. Although she is very affectionate and likes to cuddle up to people, she still needs time to trust humans in situations such as putting on her harness, etc. (She is familiar with the leash and harness, but won't always trust the situation if she doesn't trust her humans yet). She has been sleeping through the night with no issues, is house trained, and walks well on leash. Dolee is very smart and has picked up on commands very quickly, even with the language difference in which they are verbalized. She is almost too smart, and very driven and determined. For this reason she would require a home who can provide her with clear boundaries and a strong leadership so she understands "whatever Dolee wants, Dolee is not always entitled to". She would likely benefit from clicker training which provides clear communication of what is expected. She would also do best with an active adopter, as she is still young and has "puppy" energy. A yard to run around would be great for her. She can get very excited and have bursts of energy, and is learning to redirect her excitement and have good manners when playing with people. A home where someone can be present for the majority of the day in the beginning would be beneficial, as she shows signs of separation anxiety when her humans are away. Her foster is working on being proactive about it at home and not giving her attention when she demands it, but moving to a new home may exacerbate her insecurity. Dolee is a sweet girl who is very smart and affectionate. She'd do best in a home with a secure yard and people who have experience with dogs, especially around providing leadership and boundaries. She has a whole lot of potential to become an amazing companion with proper training. Dolee has a lot to offer, and even more love to give! Dolee is a 9 month old female Jindo mix, 11kg, vaccinated and spayed, microchipped. The adoption fee is $760USD (960CAD). ----------- For more info about the dog, adoption applicaiton, or adoption process, please follow the link below.
