My story

Ada von Aichach is a beautiful 2.5 year old German Shepherd. A mid-energy girl, she meets other dogs well and is vying for the Most Social Miss award in her playgroups. A true shepherd, she may take a moment to get comfortable with new people, but is always happy to see staff she knows and is such a people-pleaser. Ada will thrive with an owner who will continue her training - one who knows how rewarding a life-long relationship with this breed can be. In the play yard, Ada likes to get familiar with her surroundings and will check in with you from time to time. She loves getting affection and attention from her people. Ada boasts that she is house-trained, crate-trained and knows her sit, down, and paw commands. She also likes water. ( No cats for Ada, please.) Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
