My story

Meet Donkey... the most serious dog in the world 🧐 While we are still getting to know his personality and aren’t sure if it matches his expression, that face is a perfect cross between Eeyore 🐴 and Grumpy Cat 😾- we are in love 😻 😻 😻 And a little scared. And feeling a little judged. But mostly in love. This 6 year old schnauzer/something mix was surrendered to a local shelter when his owner was moving and could no longer keep him. We didn’t get a lot of info except that he’s friendly once he knows you and not so much with strangers. He’s definitely a classy and discerning gentleman who has a lot to contemplate before deciding if you are a friend or foe but he warmed up pretty quickly and seems to like other dogs. He will be looking for a calmer adult home that will give him time to think and decide if you are worth befriending. He’s about 30lbs and does not have a completely non-shed coat and doesn’t appear to require much grooming with his short wiry coat. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
