My story

Hi. My name is Barley and I need to find a special person or family to love me. I was surrendered to Penny Angels and spent 3 weeks in a foster home in the Carolinas before making the trek up to New Jersey. I am approx. 10 months old and weigh 40 lbs. Yes, I am a bigger boy, and I have the strength to go along with it. I ‘pull’ when walking on a leash and would be easier to control with a harness. I will be using a doggie door in Rescue but will have to learn new rules in your home. I get along okay with some dogs but sometimes play rough with them and would probably be fine with another playful doggie friend OR as the only dog in the home. I tend to jump up on people and would not be a good fit for a family with small children. I love people, though, and am very sweet to everyone I meet. I hope to find an active person who is willing to work with me and teach me some basic manners. Are you up for the challenge?
