My story

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they have been adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our applicaiton can be found at haydudeequine.org I was named for the spiritual and sacred village just north of Santa Fe N.M. The "Holy Dirt" from the side chapel of El Santuario de Chimayo is claimed to possess curative powers!!! I received the name because I am unique and special, just like El Santuario. Foster Mum describes me as very sweet and intelligent. At 4.6 pounds and only six months young, I will be a small little lady of approximately 7 pounds when fully grown. My genetic legacy is Latina, as well as my name. The characteristics of a slender head and nose qualify me as a "Deer Head" Chihuahua....so called because we resemble a delicate little baby deer! I am social with people I know, but don't wear my heart on my collar (so to speak!). I can be a little shy upon first meeting, but warm up quickly with a few kind words and snuggles....and TREATS...Yummy!! I get on great with other doggies and kitties. Only because of my diminutive size, I will do best in a home with adults or older children. They have no bad intentions, but sometimes little tykes don't know that pulling on my ears or stepping on me can really hurt!!
