My story

Velcro is a very sweet chunky guy who originally came to PACC in 2021 from a home with too many pets. In that home Velcro was reportedly good with other dogs, was housebroken and crate trained, and was described by his former family as a laid-back kind of guy. Velcro was adopted later that year but has now found himself back at PACC once again. In his most recent home, he did well with kids and with small and large dogs. He was described as affectionate, playful and a true “Velcro dog” who loves to be close to his humans. His name is Velcro for a reason after all! Velcro’s most recent family said that he loves toys, walks well on leash, and likes car rides. In the shelter Velcro has been a sweet and easygoing guy- here’s what his volunteer friends have said:“I love spending time with Velcro. He is a polite and easy walker and lives life in the slow lane, enjoying all the smells as he ambles along. He loves getting pets and gives sweet kisses in return. He’s the best boy.”“I love spending time with Velcro. He’s a big, wonderful boy. Velcro loves treats and will happily show you his perfect sit for some snacks. He takes them very nicely too. Most adorable smile and face.”“Velcro is such a gem of a dog. You can often see him passed out napping in his giant cozy bed in his kennel. But don’t be fooled- he will happily wake up to go for a walk! His favorite thing? If you stop and sit on the ground to let him do some leaning and live up to his name of being a Velcro dog. Tonight we sat and watched the sunset and he just leaned against me and let me rub his belly and his chest and get lots of neck scratches. Velcro gives plenty of kisses in return.”Velcro also impressed a new friend during a public dog walk: “Velcro loves being right by your side the whole walk. Very gentle boy. Velcro was a good boy the whole walk, listened really well and took everything very slowly. If you want to have a nice leisurely walk, this is definitely the boy for you. He also loves a good snack and knows how to sit on command!”Velcro has mostly kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading off to his new home to make sure it’s a good fit. Velcro has stiff and painful hind legs and hips and is on medication currently. However, he really needs to find a comfy home where he can rest and relax. If you`re looking for a friendly pup who will stick to you

If you have any questions or would like to adopt VELCRO, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
