Coby

My story

Meet this bright-eyed girl named Coby, listed as a mixed breed that was picked up as a stray on 4/15 to Mesquite Animal Shelter. Coby has an owner that was contacted, but sadly they opted to not come and reclaim. She weighs 50 lbs and is about 6 1/2 years old. She has a high energy level and an outgoing and confident personality. Nothing shy or timid about her! She was restless as she roamed about the meet and greet room. She is active and alert and curious about exploring her environment. She loves treats, sits for them, and can even catch them in her mouth! She walks well on a leash and has a bit of a strong pull. She was more than delighted to get out of the confines of her kennel and stretch her legs and move about! Coby does not jump on you. It appears she has lived an outside life, judging from her coat and the calluses and yet she does not look underfed. When we walked past a glass door with another dog in the room, she did react to the dog, so if interested in Coby, please ask the shelter staff for a dog test. She is hoping for a different and better life than she’s had in the past this next time around. Her fondest dream would be to live inside with her people so that she can socialize and bond with them as well as stay out of the Texas heat.
