My story

CaraIn my search for the perfect home, I kindly request that those who have never had a cat stop reading my profile. And those of you who only want a lap cat that lies around the house sleeping, please go look at a different cat. However, those who understand and sincerely appreciate the company of a cat with moxie should pay close attention to my interview. Moxie is a term used to describe vigor, courage, skill, determination, fortitude, and the ability to face difficulty with spirit. It can also refer to assertiveness, toughness, or energetic activity. Although I am only 4 years old and weigh 5.98 pounds, I have developed into a female cat with a lot of moxie. I arrived at the HSHC as a stray kitten in 2021 and was soon adopted. Three years later, my owner surrendered me back to the shelter. My owner used to call me sweetie, but now I intimidate him. I admit that my personality has changed over the last year. While I was skittish as a kitten, now I am braver and more assertive. Living alone in an apartment all day has hampered my adventurous spirit. I have plenty of energy, but I can also become bored. A bored cat needs to have something to chase, stalk, or ambush to satisfy their predatory prey drive. You`ll know when I need some stimulating play when I crouch, twitch, or pounce. I need to engage in interactive playtime with my owner 2-3 times a day. Laser pointers, puzzle toys, and fishing pole toys on strings are exactly how I can meet my `chase and capture` needs. Living in a Roaming Room has helped give me more space to explore and windows to watch from. The interviewer lady (IL) has visited me several times. Each time, I let her know I`m not interested in talking by ignoring her. If you look at my photos, you will see that I wear an RBF expression most of the time. And these are the reasons I won`t be an appropriate pet for just anyone. I need a human who is not afraid of a little challenge and is willing to give me all the time I need to feel settled and comfortable in my new home. I need a committed owner who can understand and respect my needs and requirements. Calling all cat whisperers! 8-20-25
