My story

Hi, I’m Russett! I might have had a bit of a bumpy start, but I’m loving foster life now. I’ve been working hard on a bunch of new skills, like walking on a leash, crate training, and even using my voice (sometimes I get a little too excited to hear myself bark, but I’m learning that “quiet” means treat time—so I’m definitely getting better!).I’m not the biggest fan of strangers in my home, but if you tell me “place,” I’ll happily retreat to my crate and take a little time to chill before I’m ready to say hello. I’m a good boy like that! Once I warm up, I’m all about the snuggles and affection. In fact, I’m a big fan of human contact and love to be petted. My favorite place to sleep is in my foster mom’s bed, and I like to make a cozy nest under the covers—feels like the perfect spot to dream about more treats!I LOVE learning new tricks, especially if it involves food! I’m super food motivated, so if you have treats, I’m all in. I also really enjoy walks, though I’m still working on not being scared of other dogs and strangers on the streets. I’m getting better at staying calm, but it helps if you’re patient with me.I may have a bit of a fear of thunderstorms, but don’t worry—if there’s a storm, I’m definitely going to need some extra snuggles to feel safe.I’m a sweet and loyal guy who just wants to be your best friend. If you’re looking for a snuggly boy who’s a quick learner and loves to bask in the sun, I could be the perfect fit for you!My adoption fee of $200 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5.
