Billy is a dog with a story to tell! Back in early 2022 he was found as an injured stray and brought to PACC. After a trip to the clinic, our vet determined Billy had broken his spine! Billy has spent a good amount of time in foster since then, and you would never know he was ever hurt that badly. Today he’s a happy, playful, and bouncy boy! Here’s what one foster had to say:“Billy was a great guest! He is extremely quiet and well mannered. While he does not love the crate, he gets in with fairly minimal convincing and a little bit of peanut butter. The rest of the time he was in my bedroom with me on his own bed on the floor. He pretty much just wants to be next to you on the floor while he is sleeping. He seems to be housetrained, at least he did not have any accidents at my house. We gave him a stuffy and he has shown fairly minimal interest. I have a cat and he ignored her for the most part. He didn`t interact with any children but based on my observations of his personality generally I think he would be absolutely amazing with them.”Billy spent about a month in a second foster home- here’s what we learned:- Billy is quiet and super well- behaved- He was gentle around kids- He was easygoing and loved to sleep on the couch- His favorite past time is napping- on the couch, the bed, the rug… - He is housebroken and good on leash- He is friendly, cuddly, super sweet, a couch potato and a lap dog Here’s what volunteers at the shelter have said:“Wow, I had Billy out in the Dog of the Day yard today and he did an amazing job! He met several different people and was exceedingly calm and friendly with everyone! He every person who came into the yard with a softly wagging tail and a smile! The best part of our time in the yard was when a family came in with a three or four-year-old child and he stood next to the kid as he gently rubbed his velvet ears between his fingers for a couple of minutes while I talked to his parents. Billy looked like he was in heaven!! He was very, very gentle, slow and SWEET with this little boy and he LOVED the child’s gentle touch!! Billy was non-reactive to people and dogs passing by the yard: he gets an A++!!”“We took Billy and his kennelmate out to a play yard together. These new roomies are good buds! They chased each other around the yard and played for a few minutes, then both came over to me for snuggles. They are both sweet and affectionate love bugs!”
