My story

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION UPDATED PROFILE…..UPDATED PROFILE…..UPDATED PROFILE!!! MEET LIVVY… a lucky happy pup, who is a 3 yr old, 15 lb, white and brown liver colored Teripoo! Livvy came to us after she was dumped in the South Central Shelter as a 10 month old puppy with hip dysplasia. She was so sweet, but she was unable to walk and we couldn’t leave this little scruffy there all alone. She was under socialized, scared and had no idea what was happening to her. CUT TO: Almost three years later, after very successful surgeries on both hips (now 100% healed), Livvy would love nothing more than to sit next to you or play and get belly rubs all day long. This does not mean she is without energy! She loves playing fetch and gets bursts of zooming energy that take her running around the house entertaining herself. Also very good at doggie day care! Livvy is a wonderful girl who just wants to be your baby! She wants to please, seems house-trained (but we never guarantee) and just wants to be in her forever home! It has taken a bit of time, but now that Livvy has been with us a while, her fosters really love her. Finally, we know what she needs. While she is high anxiety and didn’t initially like other dogs, she really thrives with patient, playful yet calming pups and she should have one of her choosing! She is very playful now, but a patient environment, without chaos, will help her feel safe and loved and love is what she really needs. Obedience training will also help! Livvy can be wary of new people and things, but when introduced slowly and securely, she is SWEETNESS OVERLOAD! She does pick and choose her friends, but she gets along so much better than she did in the past. She is getting more and more secure every day. o, if you have patience and a nurturing dog, after a “get acquainted period” Livvy is good! We think she could go to a home with kids who are gentle and loving! She does get used to quick movements once she is in an environment she knows and feels safe in. On walks, she has gotten 99% better but still may bark to say hello!!& If you are looking for a playful, sweet, loving pup, Livvy is your girl. Oh yeah, while some dogs favor women over men, Livvy has been successful with both! She wants to go to a home where there is her family who will dote on her. SHE NEEDS PATIENCE AND TRAINING. She loves her walks and likes to go out about 3-4 times a day. She is very smart, playful and we love her! So will you! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LIVVY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
