My story

Hi, I’m Ernie. I’m named after the famous writer (Earnest Hemingway) who had many cats like me – cats with lots of toes! I’m a very handsome polydactyl tuxedo guy with extra toes on my front feet.If you're looking for a Big cat, that's me too! I’m about a year and a half now, just the perfect age to get to know a new forever family. I say “new” because my mom and I had been adopted by a family, but the family lost their jobs and had to move during Covid and couldn’t take us. Now we’re back in a foster home waiting for a new forever home. Hopefully this time it will truly be forever. I’m super fun and really like playing – especially with feather toys. I also like loving on my foster mom - I follow my foster mom around the house like a puppy. I purr as soon as you look at me – I’m a real sweetie. I like to sleep under the covers – in my carrier, under the sofa cover or maybe even under the bed covers with you! Did you know that boy kitties are the most affectionate? Well, it’s true, especially for me!! If you only want one kitty I can be an only cat or I can become friends with another friendly cat you already have. Right now, because I lost my original family and moved into a foster home I am a bit confused and shy. I’ll need a family that will give me the time to get adjusted. But I know that it will be worth your while! When I get to a new home and begin to feel confident I will be my old sweet, loving, playful self in no time 😊 I’m already neutered and I’m ready to go to my forever family right now!
