My story

Unfortunately will not adopt out of state, ---Areas of Simi valley, -Santa Barbara No thousand Oaks will not be accepted. Including area ALL of LA will not be accepted. Parts of South County are fine. Primarily Orange County is preferred. WIL Not adopt out of orange county . parts of riverside area is fine or corona area. Meet Pacey, he is 5 months old. We have no idea who his parents are, but we suspect he is a shepherd mix, possibly with a bloodhound, as he is a talker. He likes to talk to you. Pacey is currently 35lbs and growing! Which means we can expect him to grow into a large breed dog. We can not say for sure, but we suspect he will be at least 60lbs when full grown. Again, this is just a guess. We can not guarantee the size of a dog once full grown, but we are confident he will be a large dog. Pacey is thriving in his foster home. His foster mom is a professional animal trainer, so he has developed great manners. He sits for meals and treats and even sits before being let out. He is fully potty trained. His foster home has a dog door and he will let himself out for his potty needs. He will also alert you by going to a door to be let out. He gets along with people of all ages, cats, other dogs, and even a mini pig. He is a fast learner and listens to “no” easily. He handles being left without humans (no separation anxiety), most likely because he has other well balanced dogs in the house. We are working on walking on a leash and he does very well with it. He does not pull and just needs a gentle tug to get him walking. Pacey will grow into a handsome, loyal dog. For now he is very much a puppy who enjoys running and playing with his foster dog sisters. He also enjoys playing fetch with a ball. Pacey is not afraid of water and would probably enjoy any water activities. He needs to go to a home with another medium/large dog, no older than 4 years of age. He really needs to have a playmate and currently spends a lot of the day playing with his foster sisters. Pacey is scheduled to be neutered and will have his final vaccines very soon. This means he will be ready to be adopted into his forever home. He is also available to go to his forever home now under a “foster to adopt” situation, but his new family would need to take him to his final vaccine and neuter appointments. If you would like to give Pacey his forever home, fill out an foster/ adoption application with Girls of Dog Rescue https://www.girlsofdogrescue.net/initial-application.html

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pacey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
