My story

Meet Lydia: Loyal, Loving, and Ready for a Fresh Start At 2.5 years old, Lydia’s story hasn’t been an easy one. She and her brother were found as tiny puppies in a Florida dumpster - abandoned before they had a chance. She’s been failed by humans from the very start, but despite it all, Lydia is still full of love and hope for a forever family who will finally give her the patience, safety, and commitment she deserves. This Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is smart as can be and loves to train. Lydia knows the commands “sit”, “stay”, “lay down”, and “place”. She’s also both crate and house trained! Lydia is dog reactive and will need to be the only pet in the home (no dogs or cats, please), where she can soak up all your love and attention. She’s playful, happy, and adores her toys, yet her favorite place will always be snuggled up with her humans. She loves car rides, hiking, and swimming, and she’ll make an incredible adventure buddy for someone who enjoys the outdoors. In public, she can be a little shy at first, so she’d do best in a low-traffic home where she can feel secure and build her confidence. Lydia has been let down before, but she’s ready for someone who will see her worth, love her deeply, and help her become the best version of herself.
