My story

There's nothing quite like puppy sweetness and silliness...and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These super-smart and very loving young babies are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone or at risk of euthanasia at a high-kill shelter. Hannah is a puppy starting out with great energy and sweet as can be! Now at 12 weeks old, she's blossomed into a beautiful and fun- loving ball of love and silliness. Hannah is also a stunning girl with a gorgeous coat that shows off the unique markings of the Catahoula breed. Hannah 's forever family will need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/brushing and excellent nutrition. 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and hair care to keep Hannah's coat super-healthy, shining and as soft as cotton. Hannah is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's also loving and very cuddly. This sweet little girl would be very excited to be a couch dog and snuggle with her favorite people at the end of an active day. Even at just 12 weeks old, it's clear that this puppy is SO smart and very engaging and social - very typical of both the Catahoula and Labrador Retriever personalities. Many would say these two breeds are among the most intelligent and intuitive in the dog world. Since Hannah is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Hannah will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by virtual or in-person force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in her relationship/bonding with her people. It does take time and commitment yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Hannah out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. We're open to Hannah finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart puppy. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a puppy that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Hannah enjoys her relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment can create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Hannah will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Extensive new research shows that Hannah is far too young to be spayed at this time. When she's approximately 9 - 12 months old, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for her microchip and spay if one of our rescue vets is used. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet as can be, snuggly and super-loving puppy. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Hannah please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hannah, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
