Misty

My story

Hi there, I'm Misty, a black and white pit mix who is looking for a forever family. I'm 7 years old, 58 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. I'm also house, crate, and leash trained, and I know my basic commands. I'm a shy, timid, and nervous girl who has had a rough life. I spent my whole life outside on a chain, and I never knew what love was. But I'm learning to trust people and to enjoy life. I warm up fast once I feel safe and comfortable with you. I love my crate, it's my security and my happy place. I also love to sleep in the bed with you, but I won't take up much space as I tend to curl up at the foot of the bed. I just like to be close to you. I'm good with older kids who can be gentle and patient with me, but I'm not a fan of young kids who might scare me or hurt me. I'm also good with other dogs, but I prefer a submissive dog as I'm a low-energy dog. I have not been cat tested, but I can be if you are interested in me. I'm currently being fostered in Hampton, VA, but I can be transported to another state for the right home. I'm looking for a kind and understanding person who can give me a safe and loving environment. You must be 21 or older to apply for me.
