Garland came to the Goathouse just after the Christmas holiday in December 2017. The staff and volunteers at the refuge have worked hard to help her build trust and positive associations with people, and slowly but surely, Garland has begun to come out of her shell. She still has a long way to go, though, so we’d love to find a long-term foster to provide more individualized, one-on-one care and help Garland continue to bloom. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting one of our more shy adult cats like Garland, come for a visit and a meet & greet volunteer can introduce you to Garland and other great candidates!APPROX DOB: 12/31/2016Garland is one of our FIV+ cats, and while there is no cure for FIV, with proper veterinary care, cats can live normal lives for prolonged periods of time. Please read more about managing the symptoms of FIV by visiting https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Garland (FIV+), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
