My story

NAME: Marina Sex: female Color/Pattern: black tan white Breed(s): Sheltie, Daschund  Weight: 20 lbs Size: med-small Coat length: long DOB approx: Jan 2021 ? Description  Marina is just the perfect dog. That's all. Really. Personality  Marina is so stereotypically the best dog ever, that there just isn't much more that needs to be said! She is smart like an adult dog and cute and funny like a puppy. Marina is literally good with everyone. Strangers, men, women, children, cats, other dogs, big ones, little ones, young annoying ones, old cranky ones ....... She arrived to her foster home already 100% housebroken, crate trained, good with other dogs, and doesn't really require any further training. She is also polite, sweet, easy going, happy go lucky and affectionate.  Marina is communicative to let you know when she wants to go outside, and hardly ever barks or whines, unless she needs to go potty. She is quiet, complacent, low maintenance, gentle, submissive and would make a great first pet, because she requires very little to settle in and is essentially turn-key! Marina loves walks, cuddles and is very playful. She gets a little intimidated with much larger dogs when they get excited, but who can blame her when she is so short? She doesn't mind being picked up and carried. She is still young, and probably less than 2 years old, even though she already had a litter of puppies.  Background Marina and her puppies were found in early Jan in a ditch up near New Caney, NE Houston. She was in a kennel with her 5 puppies when it was only 17 degrees outside. Her finder was driving by when she saw the kennel along the side of the rural road. She rescued them and took them inside, away from the cold. They were kenneled in her yard to be kept safe from her larger dogs when it wasn't as bad outside. They were transferred to another foster home in late January, once space opened up, who had a spare bathroom to put the puppies in. There the puppies learned to be potty trained, while Momma Marina was spayed and allowed to run and play with the other adult foster dogs.  Compatibility  Other Dogs - yes Cats - yes Kids - yes If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at GNARHouston@gmail.com to arrange a visit at my foster home or local Petsmart!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marina, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
