Chica

My story

This is Chica, a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix and it is truly a miracle that she is alive. A bus driver who drove on the route where Chica lived noticed this little girl chained outside to a dog house. After a week of driving by, she noticed that she was getting very big in the belly so she decided to stop and ask about the dog. The owners told her that a very big dog had got her pregnant and they were just going to let her have the babies. The bus driver knew that this was going to be a very dangerous situation for this girl so she begged them to surrender her. They gave her up without hesitation. She was only about 10 days pregnant and was already enormous so the lady brought her directly to us. We rushed her into our vet and she was brought into surgery immediately. The babies HAD to be aborted or this little girl would have been dead in about a week or so due to the enormous size of the the babies. It was a very sad situation but it had to be done. On top of all that she was heart worm positive so we had to treat her for that as well. We are happy to say that she is now very healthy, heart worm negative and ready for adoption. Our vet estimated her to be around 3 years young. Chica loves to play with everyone here at the rescue and has never met a stranger! She is fully vaccinated, crate trained, house broken to our doggie door and ready for immediate transport!
