My story

Tahoe the 4-month-old, 50lb male Great Pyrenees mix here. If you love big dogs then you are going to love me! I am expected to get over 70lbs once I am fully grown. If you are thinking that means that I won't try climbing on the couch or on your lap...think again! The bigger we are, the bigger babies we are! We consider ourselves to be lap dogs too, and take on an "If I sitz, I fitz" mentality. Along with that, I will soon realize that I can use my body as a blocker when I want pets. I will take full advantage of that as you will have to give me pets if you want to squeeze past me to keep going on your way. If you adopt me, you should also be prepared to find my fur everywhere. It will be on your clothes, in your car, in your bed, and sometimes you will even find it in your food. It is unavoidable really. It is my way of making sure you are never alone, even if I cannot be there with you ;) Lastly, while I have not been a big barker yet my breed is known for letting you and the whole neighborhood that we are on duty. We tend to have a big bark and aren't afraid to use it should something be suspicious to us. It doesn't matter if that leaf didn't look sketchy to you, I am still going to bark at it if I didn't like how it was falling. No, need to thank me for my awesome guardian duties. I am simply doing my job :) I am a young pup so I do have my playful moments, but overall I am chill. I like doing things with my family and playing with toys and the other dogs. However, I can often be found snoozing the day away on my bad with my feet in the air or cuddling with my people. I am a pretty affectionate guy and would prefer that my new family be around a lot. What is the point of being a guardian dog if my people are always away? I have enough energy where I would enjoy going out with my family but would also be just as happy chilling at home. A low-medium energy family would be best for me. I do enjoy having another doggie companion in my foster home. I have yet to meet those creatures that go "meow". As long as they are dog savvy, I think I would do fine with them. I would like to think that I am a friend to all. I really like the small people I am being fostered with, I think you call them kids? They are fun to hang out with and make amazing snuggle buddies! Plus, they will sometimes sneak me some yummy food under the table! I came to PPFT after I wandered up to someone's house but they couldn't keep me. They tried surrendering me to the shelter, but they were so full they were not able to assist unless they euthanized someone else. They ended up trying to find a rescue for me while the finder kept me for a bit, and that is how I ended up at PPFT! If you have to be a responsible adult and say no to another dog, then be sure to spread the word about me! You never know which one of your friends might just fall in love! And BONUS, if your friend adopts me you will get to meet me and maybe even puppy-sit me sometimes! If you are interested in offering me a forever home, you can apply at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3 Once this app comes in, it will be sent to my foster family. This is to help ensure that it is not only a good fit for you, but for me as well. I am being fostered in Broken Arrow, OK. If you have fallen in love with me and are out of state, how about a road trip? PPFT doesn't send us on commercial transports. So, if you want one of us amazing fluffy butts, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma 😉 My adoption fee is $250.00. That will include DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. He will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tahoe' Story, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
