My story

Hi, I’m Dodger! My siblings and I came from a local farm. Our mom was trapped and spayed, and now she’s back enjoying life on the farm, but I’d prefer an INDOOR life - I just need to find the PURRR-FECT family! I'm a shy boy, but once I'm comfortable, I am soooo affectionate! I love chin and ear scritches, and if you hit the right spot, you'll be amazed at the big purrs that can come out of such a little guy! If I'm not sure I'm ready to be pet, I will slowly hold up one paw, to let you know I'm unsure. (Pretty clever, right?) I enjoy ball track toys quite a lot, and I love wand toys-- if it has a feather, it's GAME ON! I like food quite a bit and I will come running when I hear cans opening! I don't meow often, but when I'm hungry, I will use my sweet little voice to alert you that it's mealtime. I especially like wet food. I also really like naps in high spots; the top of a cat tree is a favorite and bonus points if it's near a window! Toys and food are the way to crack my code! I really love Churu treats, and they are a great way to bond with me. Ear scritches + Churu? Nirvana!!!! I'm not sure about dogs, but I LOVE other cats and get along well with pretty much any cat I meet (with proper introductions, of course!) I think I'd prefer to have a kitty playmate in my new home. Because I can be skittish, I do need a home where if there are kids, they are older and very calm, and respectful of my boundaries. I'm a quiet guy with a sweet side that runs deep, and in the right home with very patient adopters, who are willing to start me out in a small space where I can’t just hide from them, I think I will form a true, lasting connection. BUT I need adopters who understand that while I can be a good companion and hang out with you, I may not ever become a lap cat. If you’re looking for a Velcro kitty, I’m probably not your guy, but if you’re looking for a cat that’s shy but chill, enjoys other kitties, and is content just to hang out near you for pets and playtime, let’s meet!
