My story

Meet Carmen!Carmen is a sweet and playful 1-year-old pup who enjoys pets, toys, and treats once she feels comfortable. She’s friendly with children and unfamiliar adults in the home but can be wary of strangers outside. The kennel environment has been stressful for her, though outside of it, she shows her social side and knows `sit` and `shake.`When meeting young kids (under 10), she was curious and stayed near but showed some hesitation. She hasn’t lived with other dogs and has been unsure around them, tending to avoid interaction. With time and proper introductions, she may warm up to a calm, respectful dog. Because Carmen takes time to warm up to new people and situations, her adopters should be prepared to help her build confidence. A quieter home without frequent large gatherings would likely be the best fit. Training and positive reinforcement will be wonderful tools to help her thrive! We encourage all family members to meet Carmen before adoption to ensure it’s a great match.
