Birgitte

My story

Birgitte (aka Briggs) is a scared and timid girl at heart. It took a couple days to warm up to her foster mom and then her adorable and silly personality began to show. She has a way of melting your heart with her sweet, tentative gestures of trust, like a hesitant tail wag or a gentle nuzzle. She needs a home filled with understanding, patience, and respect. She isn't the kind of dog who will have an instant connection with you. She will make you work for it as she takes a bit to trust people and gets spooked easily but once she loves you, she loves big! Birgitte loves other dogs and finds comfort and confidence from them, so she needs another dog in the home to thrive. She enjoys walks and going to see her friends at daycare! She can be a bit ornery if she gets bored. She has some anxiety in uncertain situations or at times when she is separated from her person. She was originally adopted as a puppy and grew up with children prior to her return to our care, but due to her timidness and fear, humans who will respect a dog's boundaries would be best for her, no matter their age.
