I'M PART OF THE REWARDS PROGRAM AND MY ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED. WE WILL ALSO PAY MY FOSTER OR ADOPTER $500. HT has a number of dogs that need very special homes. These dogs have been failed by humans along the way, leaving them homeless and with issues from their treatment. We'll be honest. Some of them are real jerks. But not always. And not to everyone. Not everyone can be charming ALL the time, right? Others are just fearful and don't like other animals because they have had a bad interaction at some point. Some of them love other dogs but are just plain scared of everything. But all of them are good on the inside. And we believe that ALL of them deserve a chance at life and love. And we're looking to find the right human out there to make that happen. But competition is tough. And they're up against small, well-behaved doggies...so we are offering incentives for special humans willing to give these pooches a chance. WE WANT YOU! ***We are paying $500 to any approved foster or adopter of our REWARDS dogs.*** The human will also get ongoing training support, all supplies covered and a $25 Amazon gift card each month for 6 months. You will learn and grow. You will be doing a world of good for a dog who has really had it rough in life. ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50 lbs. KNOWN WITH DOGS: Scout can be selective about his dog friends and would need a home where dogs and toys/food are very carefully managed. KNOWN WITH CATS: Scout has indicated that he may be interested in chasing neighborhood cats around the Center. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Scout has not lived with kiddos but we would suggest he would do best with children who are 14 years old and up. KNOWN CUES: Scout is a clever boy who knows all kinds of cues, including, Sit, Down, Touch, Stay, Paw, Place, Relax, and is working on his Heel cue. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Scout settles nicely in his crate, but gets FOMO when he knows his human friends are near. He is housebroken. KNOWN LIKES: Scout likes toys and needs to learn to trade them out when it is appropriate. He also likes treats and loves attention and cuddles from his trusted friends, and he's a great walker. KNOWN DISLIKES: Scout can be nervous in the car. He can also be a bit sensitive about handling from people he does not know. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: House Hippo Alert! Happy boy Scout, a young adult male Staffordshire Terrier mix, seeks a loving, playful family to indulge his cravings for cuddles and affection! If you are looking for a 50-pound lap dog, Scout may just be your pup. Be prepared for skills, snuggles, and slow leisurely walks. House-trained with nice manners, Scout would prefer a home with older children (14 and up). Scout wants to keep his toys close to him but we can talk about what he loves to trade toys for! He also enjoys learning, keeping his brain busy, and relaxing at the end of a long day with his best human friends. Scout was neutered during his stay at Homeward Trails.
