My story

Gemma is a gentle senior who came to the shelter after spending her entire life on one home. In that home she lived with another dog, was house and crate trained, and was described as an affectionate girl who loves toys. Gemma is now back in the shelter after several months in another home. Here’s what her foster said:“Gemma is a such a well- behaved dog. She is housetrained and knows to go outside and use the bathroom on command if you say “go potty`. Gemma is good with other dogs; she met lots of other dogs while being fostered and was indifferent or played with them. She is extremely attentive and gentle with children. Anytime a friend came over with a toddler Gemma was on her A game and watched out for the toddler. Gemma would do well in a house with children/toddlers/babies. She is great on leash and does not pull. Commands she knows are sit, stay, come, go potty, and paw. Gemma will cuddle you on the sofa but she also likes to have her own bed/space to go and be alone. She likes to play with soft toys with a squeaker and also bones. She is pretty relaxed and mellow and likes to nap but will play a bit throughout the day and likes her daily walks. Her activity level is pretty mellow and not super active, but she’ll join in on any fun if it comes her way and she does play pretty hard when the right dog comes along. Gemma is mellow, sweet, and smart. She is very loving but also independent and likes her space and down time. Gemma is a very well-behaved dog and would take little training to enter a new home. She learns fast as well and wants you to show her the ropes.”Gemma is also well loved by volunteers at the shelter. Here’s what one of them said:“Gemma is a bit confused after bouncing from her home of eight years to the shelter, then to a foster and back again. We’re hoping someone steps up to give this beauty the loving forever home she deserves. This tender-hearted gal is loving, friendly, gentle, easygoing, and eager for attention. She loves nothing more than spending time with people and she’s been known to give out soft face nuzzles to those she trusts. Gemma is a real GEM who deserves another chance to be cherished.”The PACC vets recently discovered that Gemma she may suffer from seizures, so she’ll need someone committed to ensuring that she continues to receive proper medical treatment. Gemma shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, playful, and easygoing when meetin
