My story

Hi! My name is Sage and I came here on 11/1 with my best friend Nolan. Our owner could no longer care or us, so here we are. We had bad skin due to fleas, but we are getting better cuz' the staff gives us baths every week. We would love to be adopted together, so if you adopt us both, you get 2 for the price of one! Yep! Both of us for $175!!! Let me tell you about myself. I walk good on a leash, know how to sit, and how to stay. I love kids, and take treats gently. Although I'm playful and energetic at time, I will settle down and am very loving with a kind heart. I prefer a calm home: I get scared when people in the house yell or argue. I listen well, and respond to small leash corrections if I pull. I like to play, and I love to be snuggled. Now the bad stuff: I'm not good with chickens, and probably not cats. And I'll try and to break out of a crate. Sometimes I jump on people for attention, but I'm learning not to. But, other than that, I try and be a wonderful family dog. I dream of a home with a fenced yard where I can play with kids; or maybe we can go on walks and car rides! If you are looking for a pretty, sweet girl, come meet me...and also my BFF Nolan! ....... Note: The 2 for 1 is only good if they are adopted together, which is preferred but not required as they have gotten used to being apart here at the shelter. ...... If there is a pet you really want, we highly recommend making an appointment as early and soon as possible, since we generally are first-come, first-serve. Be sure and write this pet’s name in the note section of the form, so we know who you want to see. No need to email us prior to making an appointment, unless you have a specific question. Appointments are available: Mon., Wed, Thurs.~ 10am-2:30pm Fri. & Sat.~ 8:30-Noon ***NOTE: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines; all required before adoptions are finalized. We are a rural animal control and depend on both local and out-of-county folks to adopt our pets. We appreciate you looking!
