My story

Hey there! My name is Chayce and I am an approximately 3 year old yellow male that is about 74 pounds. I came into SCLRR from a local shelter. Everyone I've met has commented on how sweet I am! I take treats gently. I love ear scratches, belly rubs and want to be near wherever you are. I love to cuddle and I have the softest fur. I mean, seriously, I love to snuggle and get petted by everyone! When someone says no, I listen. I'm potty trained. I'm mellow and can hang out and sleep all day, but I also love to play fetch and play with my squeaky toys! My foster family takes me on two walks a day, and I love my walks! I walk great on a leash and don't pull or bark at other people or dogs when I'm out. My foster family also has taken me out to a busy outdoor restaurant and I am so well behaved and just lay at their feet. I know, I sound pretty great, right? I live with my foster doggie brother and I'm sweet to him and play with him a little. I would be great as a solo dog because I like all the attention, but I would get along with another mid to low energy dog. I was introduced to a cat and I mostly ignored it. In my foster family, I live with a teenager, and I love him! Because of my size and my height, I think I would do best in a family without babies or toddlers. I should also be with a family that doesn't leave me in the yard alone and can watch me when I'm in the yard because I might figure out a way to get out and come looking for my family. But most of the time when I'm in the backyard, I love to lay in the grass in the sun and get belly rubs. I am a good boy and don't dig or destroy things. Now here is the fine print. I would prefer to go to a home where people are not away from home for very long hours or can take me with them when they leave. I can get anxious when you leave and cry and bark and get into things, so it's best that you leave me in the crate or a dog run. I am working at getting better at being in my crate, but I need a family that will be patient and willing to work with me. When I am with my people, I'm mellow and sweet and cuddly. If you are interested in giving me a forever home, please contact your family rep. I am happily waiting for you to come get me and take me home for the holidays! If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chance, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
