Meet Jayce – A Quiet Soul Looking for Her Perfect Match Jayce is a gentle and sweet girl who’s been on a long journey of learning to trust. She’s incredibly shy, but for the right home, she’ll be a loyal, quiet presence who asks for very little and gives a lot just by being herself. Jayce absolutely must have at least one other dog in the home. She finds comfort and confidence in the presence of other pups, and she often joins in for affection when she sees you interacting with your own dog. She’s also likely fine with cats, making her a good fit for a multi-animal household. Though she may never be what most would call a “typical” dog, Jayce has made beautiful progress in her foster home over the past two years. It took her months to find her voice, but she’s now a good little watchdog—though still sensitive to thunderstorms, sudden noises, and quick movements. She’s also become more comfortable around visitors and will occasionally accept gentle affection and even eat from someone’s hand (especially if snacks are involved—Jayce loves to eat!). Her ideal forever home is calm and understanding, with a securely fenced backyard and, most importantly, people who are willing to meet her exactly where she is. She needs a family who won’t try to change her, who will offer her time, space, and unconditional acceptance. Jayce may never be the dog who runs up for cuddles or plays fetch in the yard, but for the right person or family, she’ll be a quietly beautiful companion—a gentle soul with her own special way of being.
