Yoko

My story

Yoko is an exceptional dog — energetic, athletic, whip smart and confident. She is one of the smartest dogs in our program, and she is so eager to please. Yoko is happiest when she is learning and active, and she catches on quickly. She has extensive training in obedience and nose work, thanks to volunteers at the shelter. Yoko also loves to retrieve the ball and is very motivated by food and praise, which both make her a breeze to train. Her best fit would be a more active home where she can thrive with regular (daily) physical and mental exercise. We’d love to see her continue with her training and perhaps stay involved in canine sports, where she is thriving. She has a bit of “herder” in her. So, a home without cats and with older children would be ideal for Yoko. Our volunteers and shelter trainer can show you how to redirect Yoko’s focus, which has proven helpful in lessening her reactivity when she sees other dogs on leash.
