My story

Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 12 years old, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Dash – Big Heart, Soft Eyes, and a Tug Toy Always at the ReadyDash is a 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix, 64 pounds of joyful energy and full-body affection. He’s one of the most well-mannered, openly loving dogs at the Lycoming County SPCA—and we’re hoping someone out there is ready to give this handsome boy the home he’s so clearly ready for. What Makes Dash So Dash-ing:- One of the best-behaved pups we have—friendly, responsive, and affectionate- Throws himself into your legs the moment you pause on a walk—snuggles are non-negotiable- LOVES tug-of-war and will practically hand you the toy to get you to play- Energetic and social, with a big love for rope toys and tennis balls- Recovers quickly from distractions and aims to pleaseDash is a winning mix of gentle charm and bouncy joy. He may jump with excitement when greeting you, but it’s all love—he just can’t help himself. And while he can get a bit overexcited in play with other dogs, his intentions are always friendly, and he’s open to meet-and-greets to find the right match.Dash’s Ideal Home:- Kids 12+ on a case-by-case basis- Possibly another dog, with careful introductions- A family who enjoys active play and daily walks, but also values cuddles and closeness- Someone who will keep up his training—he’s eager and quick to learnDash has all the raw materials of a truly great companion: affection, smarts, energy, and a heart that wants to connect. All he needs now is a place to land—and a person or family to love.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Dash is an energetic and playful dog who loves active play and greets people with enthusiasm, sometimes jumping. He interacts well with other dogs initially but can become overly excited during play. He enjoys tug-of-war and likes rope toys and tennis balls, showing little interest in plush or squeaky toys. Dash quickly recovers from distractions and, while he tends to pull on the leash,
