My story

Believe it or not, smiley 6-year-old Scarlette came to Five Acres in January of 2024, making over a year of being in our shelter system. 💔 The reason for her intake was due to no fault of her own, as her previous owner's health was declining and he could no longer care for her. Ever since then, she's been waiting patiently for her next chapter to begin, all while watching her fellow Canine Clubhouse roommates get adopted and walk out of our front doors. 🥺 Scarlette has been grateful to be able to relax in a foster home for the last few months, showing off her manners and affectionate nature. She is housebroken and alerts her humans to whenever she needs to go out, can free-roam in the house, is pretty low-energy and loves to lounge and relax after a quick play session in the yard, and happily greets everybody who comes over (she definitely receives a 10/10 for being such a wonderful hostess!). 🐾 She gets along with children, as well, and loves to give kisses and snuggles. While she can tolerate other dogs outside of the home, she would much prefer to be the only animal you dote on in the household -- she has a lot of love to give after waiting for her family for so long, and doesn't want anyone to distract her! 💕 This gentle girl honestly prefers to stick by your side through thick and thin, happily accompanying you on your chores around the house or keeping you warm at night, whether watching movies or curling up in bed. 🥰 She's been consistently described as "the sweetest baby girl," and we 100% agree. Being with her people is all this sweetheart wants out of life, and we know that they're out there looking for her, too. ❤ Despite the time she's spent in the shelter system, this happy and loving gal is still all smiles and kisses -- but she'd rather give them to you!
