Meet Maya: A Heartfelt Story of Resilience Maya is an 8-year-old pitbull with a spirit that shines bright despite the shadows of her past. Left outside during the hot summer months, she has known loneliness and neglect, and yet she remains a loving and vibrant soul, ready to embrace life. Maya has medium energy and loves to play tug of war, her tail wagging with joy as she engages in play. She enjoys long walks by the creek, where she can explore and enjoy the world around her. Although she can be a nervous chewer and still needs to learn some manners—often jumping on tables in her excitement—her enthusiasm for life is infectious. This sweet girl knows how to sit and takes treats gently, showing her willingness to connect. She adores being petted and loves to snuggle in your lap, always eager for companionship. While she may not know many commands yet, she comes when called, eager to please and bond with her person. Maya is a bit rough around the edges and would thrive with an experienced owner who can help her refine her manners and build on her strengths. We’ve been working with her to address some of her habits, and she’s shown great potential. What Maya truly needs is a loving forever home where she can feel secure and valued.
