Meet Omi! Omi is a lovely Siberian mix born late September 2023. Omi has had a wild ride. She came to SH with her siblings as a feral kitten with ringworm. She is an affectionate and curious girl who’s always had a funky, fluffy, adorable tail that added to her charm! We got her healthy and ready for her Furrever, or so we thought. In September 2024 Omi started limping, she had a bone infection. Some may remember our pleas asking for help covering her medical bills. After countless tests and vet visits turns out, Omi had a fungal infection that entered her body through a wound on her tail as a baby. This fungus slowly and quietly attacked her whole body, focusing on her bones and eyes. Omi spent a month in ICU, had fractures in her paw, bone deterioration, half her tail amputated, lost most of her eyesight, and was a sad sick kitten. Omi is as stubborn as SH, since she wasn’t giving up so neither did we! Our amazing vets and their staff took great care of her and are always excited to see her when she goes in for check ups because even when she was in ICU she was sweet and affectionate. She has recovered! We’re thrilled to report that Omi is ready for her forever home! She’s regained her eyesight, her vet is happy with how her bones have healed and her spirit is tenacious as ever! She’s affectionate and curious. She’s cuddly and bossy. She’s a gentle ferocious hunter. She’s talkative and mischievous. She loves to cuddle up and sleep in bed with you at night. She’s playful and her favorite toys are cat dancers. She loves to lay in hammocks or as high as she can get on the cat tree. She wants to be one of the dogs so she watches them thru the window. She steals the Doberman’s spot and treats the Pyr mix’s tail as a toy, she’s fearless and harmless! She is vetted and has excellent litter box manners. Omi would do best with a furry sibling and in a home where she would not be left alone for long periods of time.Does Omi sound like the purrfect addition to your family?
