My story

Meet Happy!This sweet 1-year-old girl weighs 44 pounds and could use a few extra pounds to reach a healthy weight. Since arriving at the shelter, Happy has been shy and timid, but she`s slowly starting to come out of her shell thanks to the patient attention of one of our dedicated volunteers who works with her daily.Happy is incredibly gentle and sweet-natured—she just needs a calm, understanding home where she can open up at her own pace. A quiet environment with respectful adults or older children would be ideal, as younger kids may be overwhelming for her right now.She recently met a young puppy and did great, showing more confidence in the presence of another dog. A canine companion may help her continue to blossom! She also loves treats and takes them ever so gently from your hand.With time, patience, and love, Happy is sure to grow into the loving, loyal companion she’s meant to be.
