Meet Blackberry (her foster family also calls her Sophie!) She "ain't nothin' but a hound dog" but, unlike Elvis, she isn't cryin' all the time. In fact, she is happy all of the time. An expert at tail wagging and kiss giving, Blackberry would like nothing more than a very active person/family to take her for walks/runs, hiking, swimming (she has glorious webbed feet!), retrieving a ball or playing tug with toys. While we don't know for sure, Blackberry looks very much like a Treeing Walker Coonhound. She is approximately 1 year old, 48 pounds and full of pep. She would benefit from many walks or a lot of activity to run her stink off. No doubt she would excel in agility! Because of her energy and strength, she would do best in a home with older children. After Blackberry is tired out, she will lay on the couch with you asking to have her velvety ears rubbed. Blackberry is the whole package and more. Did we mention that she is gorgeous?!? She will do best in a home with a fully fenced in yard and kids 10 or older as she is very exuberant and could knock over smaller kiddos! If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 6:27 pm
