Bells Angel ACCT-A-159755 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Bells Angel must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, FOSTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Wednesday, May 1st at 10 A.M. Should Bells Angel's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Bells Angel was surrendered to ACCT when his owner no longer wanted him. This guy hasn't had an easy time adjusting to the shelter, and he did not allow any handling upon arrival. Since then, our staff has made it a point to win him over, as has been documenting the journey regularly: 3/22 Cat was on the uncovered side of the kennel this morning, growling and hissing continuously and attempting to swat at anything that moved. 3/29 So much progress! Gave slow blinks along with lip licks. Let the ACA clean his kennel without fighting with her AND let her pet him (with the bite gloves on). Even leaned in to solicit a few times. 4/5 Bells Angel was actually soliciting attention this morning! He was rubbing against the kennel, so I threw on some gloves to give him some love. Leaned heavily into the head petting, although he did rumble a bit when I had to close the kennel door on him. So proud of him! Bells is the kind of cat that will accept affection as he pleases, but it tends not to be a moment more. While he has made great progress with us, it's easy to tell he's frustrated in his kennel, and would much prefer the space of a home. His previous owners described him as being very active, and having a lot of energy, and he is becoming increasingly stressed in his kennel, particularly when it comes time to clean it. Bells would do best in a home that can provide him adequate decompression time, someone who understands his indicators, and does not push him for affection. Video : + Bells Angel plays on his own terms : https://youtube.com/shorts/1GM5ehL2Wm8 - Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog or cat. Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly's Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bells Angel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
