Meet Poochie ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Poochie is a handsome, outgoing pup, who loves to play! This boy is super smart and affectionate. He knows many commands and is eager to learn more! Poochie loves long walks, swimming and just basking in a sun spot. Poochie has not been handling the stressful kennel life well and he's in dire need of a foster home or adopter. He's a med-high energy dog who loves long walks and swimming. He has lived with dogs before, but does best with slow intros and dogs that respect his boundaries. He would also be happy as the only pet so he could get all of your love and attention. Poochie is very affectionate and loves attention and would be a sweet companion to anyone looking to have the handsomest, loveliest pup by their side. He would do well with someone who has an active lifestyle. Poochie is in need of an experienced foster or adopter who will help him decompress from the stressful shelter environment. ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Poochie gets along with dogs but prefers to live with a dog that can match his vibe and would do fine as a solo as well. KNOWN WITH CATS: Poochie is not good with cats KNOWN WITH KIDS: Poochie is a little shy when people reach for his head. He also gets nervous when small children run, scream, or play loudly. Recommend he goes home with kids 14+. KNOWN COMMANDS: Poochie knows sit, down, paw, look, come, and he is working on 'spin' 'touch' 'wait' and 'leave it'. Poochie is treat motivated and he is eager to learn more. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Poochie doesn't like hearing all the dogs bark so he doesn't appear to mind being in a crate away from other dogs and noise. KNOWN LIKES: Affection, treats, water, butt scratches, sand, playing with toys, and training KNOWN DISLIKES: Kennel life. Not everyone can be charming ALL the time, right? Others are just fearful and don't like other animals because they have had a bad interaction at some point. Some of them love other dogs but are just plain scared of everything. But all of them are good on the inside. And we believe that ALL of them deserve a chance at life and love. And we're looking to find the right human out there to make that happen. But competition is tough. And they're up against small, well-behaved doggies...so we are offering incentives for special humans willing to give these pooches a chance.
