Lily of the Valley ACCT-A-161563 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Lily must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, FOSTER, OR RESCUE PARTNER by SATURDAY, MAY 11TH at 10AM. Should Lily's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Lily of the Valley! She has been waiting so patiently for someone to be dazzled by her beautiful smile and outgoing personality, but somehow this gorgeous pibble mix has had no takers just yet. Lily lived happily with her human for three years, but when her owner was hospitalized, family members surrendered her to the shelter on April 9th. Lily is a lively, outgoing, and playful girl who's always down for an adventure - her owner's family even said she loves visiting the local playground and going down the slide! Lily's owner's family described her as "very playful, loves walks and treats, high energy, very active." They said she already knows sit and lay down, and loves visiting the park and going down the slide there! They noted Lily would enjoy a big yard with plenty of space to play and run around, and tons of toys - her favorites are bones and squeaky toys. Lily needs a bit more work with her housetraining and crate training, but this smart girl is always ready to learn new things! Lily is known to be friendly with strangers and children, generally sociable towards other dogs (see her dog meet below!), but has no known interactions with cats. This beautiful Lily would absolutely blossom under the loving care of an active family, who can provide her with plenty of toys, activities, and exercise! Lily is available for adoption, foster care, or rescue placement. Please check out Lily of the Valley's notes below, and contact ACCT Philly if this adorable pibble is the one for you! On 5/5 staff noted: "Did an adoption meet on 5/2. Was very sweet at first but got overstimulated after about 15 minutes. She began biting and playing with the leash. When I let go of the leash, she just walked around happy with it in her mouth and dropped it after a minute. Did need help keeping her distracted when returning to the kennel due to the leash biting. Happy to munch on treats the whole way back." On 4/29 staff noted: "The sweetest girl with the saddest eyes. She waited to come to the kennel door until I called her over and then came right over and gently tried to give kisses through the bars. She's super gentle and sweet and just needs someone to notice her!" On 4/14 staff noted: "Lily of the Valley got out to stretch her legs today! She greeted in kennel with soft eyes and some mid level wags. She was nervous of the leash and did a bit of leash dodging, but I was able to leash her relatively easily and she came right out. Lily of the Valley walks really nicely on leash! She walks with minimal pulling, and when she feels leash tension she slows down and stops pulling. When we got to the yard I sat down and Lily came up to give me a couple sniffs before running off to find a toy. She found a red rubber bone that she fell IN LOVE with! She walked around the yard happily with it in her mouth, and she would try to find places to hide it so she could come back to it later. Lil of the Valley was so proud of her toy she kept bringing it up to me to show me! She would jump up with her two front paws on me and show her toy. She allowed petting with it in her mouth and allowed me to grab it, but she didn't release for me at all; she just wanted to show me the toy, not give it to me. When she wasn't playing with her toy Lily sought out some pets and attention from me. She liked to climb up on the bench with me and get pets; one time she climbed all four paws right into my lap and laid there for a second before jumping off and doing some zoomies! Lily of the Valley allowed all over pets, and seemed to like some butt scratches, leaning in to them and stretching. When it was time to return I decided to bring her new favorite toy with us as well. Good thing too, as Lily of the Valley began leash biting. She was jumping up into the air and tugging on the leash, making it difficult to continue walking. I gave her her bone and she took that in her mouth instead and carried it the rest of the way back to kennel. She returned to kennel without issue and dropped her new toy on her bed to play with later." On 4/10 staff noted: "Easy to leash. In kennel Lily was panting and giving slow mid level wags at the front of the kennel. She had soft eyes and appeared interested in coming out but was nervous of the leash. She sniffed it for a few minutes but would back away from it when I tried to leash her. After a few tries I was able to slip it over her head ears to snout. NO issues when returning- a bit hesitant but went in with some leash pressure. Pulls moderately on leash, nervous on leash at times. Neutral, allows all handling. Lily was pretty stressed outside. She was panting heavily and owner searching outside. She was loose when interacting with me but much of her attention was on exit searching and pacing around. She had no interest in treats outside at all but did show knowledge of sit. She would come over to me often and allowed me to pet her full body. She would lean against me and remain loose. if I stopped she would glance up with soft eyes continuing to lean against me. Play - no interest. Too stressed at this time. Toys - accepts a trade, perked up at the squeakers. Would try to self soothe with toys." On 4/10 staff noted: "Lily's owner's daughter brought her in yesterday, and had been dropped off in the parking lot so did not have a vehicle in which she could wait with Lily. She was having trouble controlling Lily who was jumping on her and pulling hard on her leash, so I had her sit with Lily in the small run next to the big play yard while she filled out Lily's paperwork. In the play yard, Lily sniffed around and was excited, loose, and wiggly. She jumped up on me frequently and allowed all handling. She got a little mouthy at times and I would need to stand or pull her away from me, but she was not persistent and was fairly easy to redirect. She is a sweet girl with tons of energy!"
