My story

Meet Precious, a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who was originally transferred to Big Dog Ranch from Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. She has unfortunately been adopted and returned twice, and is now patiently waiting for the right fit—a forever home that understands her needs. Precious is shy and reserved when meeting new people and may take time to build trust. Once she feels safe, she’s affectionate, gentle, and loves to cuddle. She also enjoys her toys and has a moderate energy level, making her well-suited to a home that balances calm and activity. She’s good with other dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and knows basic commands. However, due to her sensitivity and past experiences, she would do best in an adult-only home and is not a match for families with children. Precious needs an adopter with prior dog experience, ideally someone familiar with guardian breeds like the Great Pyrenees. She’ll thrive in a quiet, stable environment where she can settle in at her own pace and feel secure.
