Camila von Dreieich is an adorable, 10-11 month-old, smaller-sized Shepherd mix. This petite, pretty girl is coming out of her shell and is showing the staff and other canine denizens at the Rescue how personable and genial she really is. She has discovered how nice it is to get her head rubbed and scratched by people. She likes to be with other dogs, is interested in them and even sometimes follows them around. Camila is working on mastering her basic commands, and she is delighted to take a treat or two in her ladylike manner. When it is time for a walk, she may hesitate and stay close to the handler, but once she meets the other dogs, she is happy to share the pack adventure. In playgroups, she is still Initially cautious but soon begins to explore the yard. She likes to settle at a good spot to watch the action, and she likes that other dogs approach her with friendly greetings. We are very proud of this brave little girl and how much her natural curiosity and her desire for companionship have changed her. Her history suggests that she is house-trained and was good with young children. Perhaps your pack has room for this young lady, because it is her greatest desire to find the happy place to which she belongs. (No kitties please.) IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Camila von Dreieich YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Camila von Dreieich, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
