My story

Do you dream of a soulmate who has the perfect combination of intelligence, humor and loyalty, but isn’t too clingy? One that loves to keep you company on long walks & listens intently to stories of your day? Then Mayfield is patiently waiting for you! A handsome ‘Shepsky’ (as we feel he’s most likely a shepherd husky mix), Mayfield received a double dose of brains from both these smart breeds as well as the shepherd’s focus & the husky’s independence. He has a playful side, loving a good romp-around with toys, but that’s well-balanced by his more serious, calmer side.  He’s confident & athletic, learning the obstacles on an agility course his first try! He’s large framed, but light on his feet & the perfect age, calmer than an adolescent but still active and eager to learn. He’s been good in the car for off-campus adventures and walks politely on leash. He came to our shelter as a stray together with his pitbull ‘sister’ who has since been adopted. Mayfield thinks a game of fetch is simply delightful & if you believe you could be the ‘fetchmate’ he’s been dreaming of, come meet him today!
