My story

Elliot is an endearing dog who came to us as a stray. He was in very rough condition when he arrived. While we were able to clean him up and groom him and have him treated by our veterinarian, Elliot did suffer some permanent damage to his eyes. He sees fairly well although we feel he probably has some minor vision loss due to his neglect. He is a young boy believed to be about three years old. He will need eye drops daily to keep his eyes from deteriorating further as they get very dry. Other than that, he is a healthy boy who needs lots of love and kindness. He will become very devoted to you and give you back as much as you give him, probably more. We believe he was raised as an only dog as he is socially uncertain about how to deal with other dogs, but he would do OK with another dog that was gentle with him. We feel that Elliot will blossom in a home and become a happier and more playful companion, but he does have some learning to do. He likes to go for walks and he walks well on a leash and does not pull. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how well house trained Elliot is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. He is very eager to please. Elliot is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Elliot's's adoption fee is $350 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest.
