My story

Are you looking for a one-of-a-kind feline companion? Look no further, because Buddy is here to steal your heart! Buddy is a distinguished 7-year-old giant orange tabby with a personality as vibrant as his coat. Despite his rough past as a street-smart tomcat, Buddy has transformed into a gentle giant who craves love and attention. Neutered late in life, he's left his days of neighborhood skirmishes behind him, opting instead for the cozy comforts of indoor living. This handsome fellow has a bit of a spicy side, though! He enjoys showing his affection in his own unique way, sometimes with a playful nip or an all out bite. It's all part of his charm but not recommended for small children. He craves affection and makes it known when he feels he is not getting enough of it. Buddy is FIV positive, but that doesn't stop him from living his best life and is sure to thrive in a stress free indoor environment. More about FIV below. He's looking for a special home with a calm family who understands his needs and appreciates his fiery spirit. He gets along well with non-aggressive cats and would thrive in a household where he can be a quiet lover. Recently, Buddy had a dental cleaning and was found to have arthritis in his hip. But don't let that deter you! With the right care and love, Buddy is ready to embark on his next adventure with a family who will cherish him for the giant Garfield he is—a mature audiences-only version, of course! If you're ready to open your heart and home to this larger-than-life feline friend, come meet Buddy today. He's waiting to bring endless joy and companionship into your life! 🐾 Many people are unfamiliar with FIV and may have misconceptions. It's transmitted primarily through deep bite wounds, and it's not transmissible to humans or easily to other cats through casual contact. Despite having FIV, many cats can live normal lives with proper care. Since FIV-positive cats may have compromised immune systems, it's often recommended they be kept indoors to reduce the risk of exposure to infections. Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and consequential infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. Although cats infected with FIV may appear normal for years, they eventually suffer from immune deficiency, which allows normally harmless bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi found in the everyday environment to potentially cause severe illnesses. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. Buddy has been tested for feline leukemia virus and was negative. Cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections. https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv
