Lunchbox is a 4-year-old SMB who was surrendered by his owner due to being highly active and exhibiting difficulties during walks, particularly regarding reactivity.Previously lived with:One adult, One cat.Behavior Towards Strangers:Lunchbox is friendly and outgoing but also shy on his own terms when greeting strangers.Behavior Towards Children:He is shy and prefers contact on his own terms but is very friendly, outgoing, and playful.Behavior Towards Other Dogs:Lunchbox exhibits hard barking, growling, and will lunge towards other dogs.Behavior Towards Cats:He is friendly and outgoing.Resource Guarding:Lunchbox is very protective of his toys, displaying tense body language and hovering over them when someone tries to reach for them.Bite History:None reported.Housetrained:Yes.Energy Level/Descriptors:High.Other Notes:Lunchbox will attempt to jump and mouth at leashes during walks when he sees other dogs. He is reactive to other dogs and will attempt to lunge at them. He is both fearful and unbothered when held or restrained once comfortable. He is unbothered when disturbed while sleeping and when pulled off furniture. He shows no reaction when his paws or feet are touched, or when his collar is grabbed or touched. He has no known medical issues.For a New Family to Know:Lunchbox is described as a wonderful dog who is social and very affectionate. He can be very active and playful, always eager to play with people. He can also be a couch potato and lap dog, enjoying spending time where people are, particularly in the living room and bedroom. He allows himself to be groomed by owners and enjoys going for car rides. Lunchbox knows how to sit and stay and is very treat motivated. His favorite things include playing with toys and being given treats, especially chicken.Behavior Notes:Upon intake, Lunchbox was panting and trembling inside the doggy training bag James had him in, with a training leash attached. His eyes were roaming around the area, mouth ajar, and tongue out, displaying passive escape behavior. After being released from the bag, he sought attention by jumping and pawing at the handler, licking their hand. He allowed all types of handling, including being picked up, and took his vaccines without issue. He was comfortable walking into the kennel and showed no signs of aggression.
