Meet Marvin! He will greet you like you are already his best friend, and his friendly nature and stunning eyes will win you over in no time. If you are looking for a house-trained dog who enjoys games of fetch, neighborhood walks, and cuddling on the couch, then Marv just might be the one for you! Marvin's favorite things: - Sniffing for treats in blankets, snuffle mats, grass, cardboard boxes, etc.- Marv loves to use his nose and eat treats! - Playing fetch with his favorite ball - Cuddling - De-squeaking squeaky toys Cues Marv has been learning and practicing: - Sit - Wait - Touch - Let's Go How am I doing in foster? "Marvin is a great companion. He makes me smile and laugh every day with his goofy antics and adorable expressions. He is a great cuddler, and it is so comforting having him curled up next to me while I watch tv and sleep at night. He has a favorite ball, and he likes to play fetch with it and even just hang out with it, especially outside on warm days. Having his ball somehow makes everything better for him! Marv enjoys sniffy walks in the neighborhood, we just have to be careful about when and where we walk to ensure we can maintain distance from other dogs. We have been working on "Let's go," and he has made a ton of progress! He is also happy to skip the walks and play fetch in the fenced yard instead. With a slow introduction, he has become friends with the neighbor dog, and they like to play in the yard! I am not sure why it is taking so long to find his forever home. Sure he can be a little extra exuberant at times, and he needs some special considerations on walks when it comes to other dogs, but otherwise he is really wonderful!" - Marvin's foster mom Marvin is a big boy, and he tends to jump when he's excited, so he would do best in a home without small children. He has been working on managing his excitement and is making good progress! Marvin has big feelings about being close to other dogs, so he is looking for an adopter who can manage his environment and continue his training to help him in stressful situations. He has made dog friends with slow introductions, and needs someone who will advocate for him and his boundaries if he makes any more dog friends in the future. My adoption comes with some extra benefits at the time of adoption! Marvin is an all-star dog, and his adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Marvin or to schedule an appointment to meet him, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you. I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marvin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
