Riker

My story

Meet Riker! He is a 2 yr old male American Staffordshire mix that weighs 60lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as an owner surrender on 6/26. Reason for surrender was he was no longer wanted. Sadly it appears he has lived outside, yet he still dreams to have a home where he can stay cool and comfy with his new family members. He walks well on a leash, takes treats gently and knows the sit command. He enjoys being petted and loved on and gives you a big smile! As walking through the shelter with other dogs barking at him, he looked at them, but continued to walk past them. We do always ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. He likes to run for toys, yet does not retrieve them. I`m sure in time he will find the perfect toy! He has such a happy go lucky personality, and is just waiting for his own special family. Come meet Riker!
