Elroy

My story

This could be someone special's boy Elroy! Elroy is as unique looking as he is silly sweet. He seems pretty young and was a little overwhelmed by the shelter when we first met him. Elroy also came in skinny and very hungry. Treats were the way to his heart. He knows some commands, is eager for all the snacks, and leans in when we pet him. Elroy is working on his confidence daily, but really needs a home. The shelter is full every single day of deserving dogs hoping it won't be their last day of life. Came in as a stray on 4/29/24. Found near 2700 S. California Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information. The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after time for decompression for the shelter dog.
