Kash is a two-year-old, 57-pound lab mix that his owner surrendered because they were having a second child and didn’t have the time and could no longer afford to care for him. Kash is good in the house and easy for the most part, but it’s evident that he had very little socialization in his previous home and was likely stuck in a crate or a basement because strangers frightened him, and he gets protective. Once he knows he’s safe, he drops his guard, but he’ll need a strong leader, like his fosters, who can build his confidence enough to correct the issue. We are committed to providing training for the adopters too. If you would like to foster to adopt Kash, please go to www.atlantalabrescue.com and apply. For more info and to talk with the foster, please email atlantalab979@gmail.com. FROM THE FOSTER: Kash has not had any accidents in the house since we got him. He sits before going down the stairs and in and out gates and doors, making great progress with place training. We are working on being able to crate him when people come over, and he’s doing much better with good treats. We are feeding him in it, and he settles much quicker now. His leash walking has improved immensely, and he is walking loosely most of the time. We found a high-value treat he likes, helping with walks when he sees people and dogs. He got the zoomies this weekend for the first time, which we see as a perfect sign that he is starting to relax. He is doing great with sit and down. Overall, we enjoy having him as a foster. ##2084264##
